Tire Tube failed just sitting there...
I was working in my driveway yesterday, not even touching the Cruzer (not yet flying).
I heard a noise that sounded like a garbage truck (i.e., low-gear higher engine speed), and my wife said, "That is that??". I looked around and determined it was coming from the Cruzer. Finally determined the front tire was losing air.
I had not added air to the tire in over 3 weeks. Why it chose to just fail sitting there is the question. I suppose I could have pinched the tube between the wheel halves, but have not disassembled yet.
NEXT SHOCK: Does anyone have a good source for aviation inner tubes (5.00 x 5)? The quick search I did show them anywhere from $73 to $118 for ONE. Man, inflation has gotten bad....

Pinched a tube or a small shaving of metal or other fod got in there and gradually worked its way thru the tube. I have had both things happen to me.
Tube and tire prices seem stupid-expensive. Try Dressler direct. They may be a little cheaper and they ship quickly - well they di this time last year.

Thanks, Gary. I checked Desser the other day. They were all in the 112-119 range. Found an Aero Classic for $79 but still thought that seemed high. Seems like the tubes are more than the tire!
kinda PO’d that it failed before it was even taxi’d. I know it’s probably pinched and I accept personal responsibility, but I was shocked at the prices. I remember on my Sonex I bought a spare tube back in 2012 just to keep in the tool bag just so I wouldn’t be marooned someplace. At the time, I wanna say it was about $30.
