Does anyone know of a good reputable aviation machine shop that can check crankshafts? Preferably in the Eastern US. About all I find on the web fairly close is Aircraft Specialties in Ok., Does anyone know them? I live near Knoxville Tn.
I have several hotrod buddies (cars) that are always building race engines and they take their cranks to machine shops and have them done. I would suppose that would be out of the question for an aircraft crank?? Thanks guys for any help!

I've used Aircraft Specialities for decades. Never had a problem. I got all the steel parts for a small Continental there now for magnaflux and IRAN. The case went to Divco in Tulsa. Both long time reputable shops.
No, I would never take an a/c crank to a car type machine shop
you didn't say what type crank...if it's a Rotax I would have to research that.
Joe, thanks for your help, it's an 0-200 and I Fedexed the crank off to Aircraft Specialities.
I think you'll be satisfied. Mine's about done...they went 10/10 on it(minus 010 on the rod and main journals). Should get it all back next week and start putting it up. lotsa $$$$
