If anyone is headed to the Corvair College in Austin coming up very soon (March 9-11), let's get in touch. I am planning on running my 2850cc Corvair engine on William Wynne's test stand. This should be a great time. I registered a while ago, but understand there is still a little time left to register.

Blaine, I'm still a definite maybe - paid up, willing and ready but always subject to what wrenches my job can throw in the mix. Lookin' forward to seeing your engine run!

My son and I are going.  Nasty drive down from Minnesota.  Planning on running the 2700cc that WW built for us, checking out the college, and taking it and a motor mount home.

Rebecca,

Hope you have a safe drive from MN. See you there!

Blaine

Anyone know what William charges (ballpark) for a finished engine?  Been trying to find out a rough price to compare.  His site shows the engines, but if he has the prices on the site I can't find them. Think I'd rather have one built by him with the 5th bearing than trying to scrounge parts up here for one.

$9500 for a 2700cc with a Dan bearing but no carburetor.

More if you want a bigger engine or turbocharger.

I think the biggest engine is around $11,500 to $12,000,  but I don't know - you should talk to William.

Hmmm that's not bad, considering the viking is 13k, depends on what William charges for the carb, mount and other parts I guess...might be worth another look!  Thanks Rebecca

If you go to www.flycorvair.com you will find prices for stuff like mounts.

Ran the engine William built for me at the Corvair college - looking and sounding good.

I would definitely consider the Corvair.  Lots of Zeniths flying with them.
