Hi,

My Zodiac 601 experienced a left rudder jam which forced the pilot to hard land immediately after rotate. It was about 15 feet airborne.

Both wings and landing gears were damaged -which i am planning to repair.

It also dented the oil cooler. What should I be looking for in the engine for signs of damage and how can I tell the engine is serviceable?

Thanks!

J.

Do you have any idea what caused the rudder jam?

the pilot had a lady passenger with hand luggage which he suspects pressed on the pedal. nothing suspicious was noted once on the ground. seemingly unexplainable.

What make and model of engine? That will help people to comment wisely on your main question......

My engine is a Rotax 912 UL

1) What kind of engine?

2) Did you have a prop strike?

Rotax 912 ul Yes, there was a prop strike
