100 th aniversary of powered flight in Canada

Posted on February 24, 2009 at 8:50am 0 Comments

I went for a short flight yesterday (feb 23) which is the 100th aniversary of powered flight in Canada, just to honor it and think how far flight has come. The 701 as usual makes you forget the worlds problems as you cruise around

Hi Jack The city of Lloydminster where I live is right on the border of the provinces of alberta and saskatchewan , in fact it is called canadas border city. We are 150 miles east of Edmonton on highway 16 or 250 miles NE of Calgary cross country. We are in the prairie , the trees start 50 miles north. Barney

Thanks Barney,
I am just learning this blogging stuff so I guess it was a question to you by mistake. You mention chainsaw. My Dad worked in the woods of northern Maine many years ago driving a team of horses to yard logs. Do you work in the woods way up there in the north country. I believe I have driven through that area a few years back while in the US Army.
Great to get an answer anyhow.

Hi Fellow Aircraft Enthusiast,
I am new at this bloging thing so I hope I make sense.
In Aug 04 I attended the rudder workshop at Mexico and left with the empenage and have been buying sections of the kit as I complete others. I am now at the point where the electical has me I bit confused.
Does anyone have pictures of the wiring they have done at the firewall?
I'm mechanical person and pictures realy help me construct some ideas.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jack

Hi Barney,
I live about 20K north of Cochrane Alberta. I really hope to be flying this year. Lots of little things to wrap up but mainly I have two wings done, tail feathers, fuselage, electrical including EFIS and moving map, engine is installed etc. Just finishing the cabin doors and then will be calling for inspection. Hard to find time. What's under the hood of your 701? Are you enjoying it? What airport are you flying out of?
