During my testing I started with no holes in the front of my cowling and found my oil temps were high. I made two holes in the front of the cowl 1 1/2 in diameter and dropped the temps about 12 degrees. That was not enough so I cut out the area between the holes to make an oval opening. That helped but when OAT got above 85 degrees my oil temps were still high. I cut another hole below the oval hole, and centered on it,that was just below the bottom of the engine and then removed materal to the bottom of the 1 1/2 in holes. That worked for me. My oil temps run 190 to 210 with OATs of 85 to 88 degrees.
