Blocked fuel flow

What I learned today about flying in a friends 750 STOL  Don’t run a tank dry with fuel selector valve on both.  Switch to the more full tank early and use all available fuel before switching back to the less full tank.  Here’s what happened, my airport’s fuel pumps are being serviced so I elected to go to an airport about 18nm away.  I had 8 gallons in my right tank and maybe one gallon in my left tank when I took off with the fuel selector on both.  This engine normally uses 6 gph.  I flew…See More

Flaparon adjustments

I am flying off the phase one test period for a friend that has a medical issue.  On the first flight it was apparent that the right wings flys "heavy".  On examination I discovered the right flaparon is set about an inch higher than the left flaparon.  I assume that adjusting the vertical flaparon control tube should fix this and I don't like making assumptions.I would appreciate input to confirm my thinking or lack thereof. Thanks in advance,DavidSee More

New Zenith nosegear shock absorber system for Corvair engine only

I recently purchased the new Zenith rubber donut system and wanted to share a couple of observations.1.  For those on the fence about the upgrade there are a couple of considerations.  If you haven't installed your Corvair engine mount yet, definitely upgrade before installing the engine mount while it's still about a 30 minute job.  I have about 15 hours on my Cruzer when the bungee cord failed.  I don't know why it failed I suspect it dry rotted during my 4 year 3 month build.  It's easier to…See More

Hello David, my name is Mark Schleier and I am building a 750 cruiser with the 3.0 Corvair engine as well. I would love to talk to you about your build and my build if you are available. You can text or call me at 706-436–3553. I lack just a couple of weeks on the fuselage and then I will be ready to start final assembly and work towards the first engine start. And my airplane is located in Charlotte North Carolina. Thanks David

Hi David,

Had our tech counselor give the schematic a look. He thought it had the basic elements. Beyond that following the 2014 manual or contacting WW would be the best approach.

Hi David,

Glad we're connected; the workshop was an eye opener in terms of the project.

We have a 750 STOL kit in the shop with the horizontal and elevator in work. Also the Piet project underway. I found another Corvair core so here we go. The 3 liter we've started will go in the 750.

We can be reached at 402-274-7530, 402-274-8038(cells) or 402-274-6639.

best,

Harold and Edi
