Michael,
I sure appreciate the info. It means more to me from builders that things at Viking are OK than from them. I am leaning on buying their gearbox, but was somewhat relulctant due to past issues. Sounds like this are OK there now.
Mike,
I got to thinking about your comment about putting a deposit on the viking engine and hoping to get it in the spring. Was that because they don't have it available until then? I was just curious about their delivery time frame?
MIke,
I really appreciate your reply. I hope things go well for you. I think the honda engine is a great choice and I hope for experimental aviation that Jan has more success with Viking that he had with the subarus. I am a true fan of people using experimental airframes and auto conversions if they want. Good flying to you sounds like a great project!
P.S. I have an RV6A in my shop that is completed. I am seriously thinking of selling it and switching to a Zenith 750 as I know have enough for a short grass strip at my house. When I started the RV6a I did not have that...
Hi Mike do you have a privet email mines zman@scrtc.com
My son and me went to cc34 at mexico mo at the zenith factory and got the motor about 80%, but am waiting on a bunch of parts from Wm. so until i get toughs parts i'm kind of stuck. I'm trying to finish up a lot of my inst. and wiring while waiting, bummer
Michael I've never heard of it but sounds interesting. I ended up installing aluminum lines, i just didn't want to take a chance with the rubber. I even uses the fuel valve that Paul sanders has in his reply. I see that your using a corvair so am i, its a 3000 cc unit
Hi
I fly when there is an opportunity to fly, winter added some of obstclaes like snow drift in front of the hanger door, runway plowing and engine starting etc.. let us watch the weather and find a good flying day. I am planning to fly to Wetaskiwin and you may be able to drive to the airport, then we can fly in the area for an hour or so.
Hi Michael
You are welcome, Zenith CH750 is a great airplane, I will be pleased to help you getting familiar with the airplane and its characteristics. I flew the airplane about 100hrs in the last two years and I have experience in Merlin, C-172 and C-182 as well, but flying CH750 is fun and rewarding.
Building the airplane is another animal I never dealt with. I takes few years based on other builders feedback. Therefore you need to be prepared of sparing the required time to build the airplane.
