6F this morning but warmed up to 20F by the time I got to the hangar, and 19F at altitude. This lake is 7 miles long and I'm at 800' checking for landing hazards. Note the ice ridge runnng left to right about middle of picture. Lot of birds, (dozens upon dozens) eagles, vultures and crows near the ice fishing shacks where fishermen throw out the invasive fish (e.g.pike) that are caught. It is illegal to put them back!

We catch Pike here 7 - 24 lbs and eat them. They may be invasive but they are good to eat if you know how to filet them removing the bones. Lake Trout, Small Mouth Bass and Pike all in the same lake. The Pike were invasive but since they established themselves the Lake Trout have returned bigger and more plentiful. The Bass are just fun, pure & simple scrappy fighters.
Perry, this is Pushaw Lake.
Shawn, I get pretty good heat on my legs and feet in the cabin at these temps during cruise. With the sun out and mild layering of the upper body it is actually nicely comfortable. Still working on finding a couple drafts though...
Looks like fun, david...but cold!
