Painting the protective plastic wrap of course, and then peeling it off.

No heat. the thin lexan is easy to bend. Many clamps are needed to hold in place while drilling.

But before any of that, I made a rough fit using thick kraft paper. You can instantly see creases and bad bending. I used the paper as a rough guide to cut the lexan.

I have heard of one person painting it flat black when done and leaving it in the sun to stress relieve.

Old-school wraparound! I have widened my cabin Area by ten inches, And I am Worried About the process Of forming the windshield, I would like to do what you have done. If you have any advice for me I would sure appreciate it. For example what temperature did you heat the plastic, And how did you keep it from waffling and warping? As far as beauty contests your airplane looks wonderful. I am very envious Of the job you're doing...

Old school wraparound 0.064 polycarbonate. I had the old windshield as a template but i modded it slightly larger to cover the very ugly holes he drilled to secure it. I must have installed and removed the roof, winshield and wing root skins 50 times before getting it right. It will not win any beauty prizes.

Beanie Mod sunroof. Sandwich roof made from 0.06 lexan between 0.016 6061T6. Added a nice round shape and about 2 inches more headroom. I only installed and removed it about 900 times to cut and fit the wing root transition.
