Where are you based. The area looks familiar. I live in Anchorage.

How do you like the 701 for off field work? are you concerned about the nose gear? I sold my RV9 and plan on building a 750.

I hope to use my 701 in New Mexico to spot ElK. very neat story on how to take a moose out of Alaska. Better luck on your next hunt

Wow, what a great response! Maybe I should explain...These pictures were taken this year during a moose hunt with my brother-in-law. We found a place to land and then hiked 1.5 miles to another place that we cleared some brush for about 450 feet by 40 feet wide. (Super cub pilots beware your wing is too long and your climb out won't make it) We made a second camp that I will post some pics on later. We spotted a very large moose 70"+ with 3 cows. We got close but did not get a shot. Had we shot this moose our plan was to have quartered and game bagged him on the spot and hauled the pieces to our 2nd camp. While I transported the bagged pieces to our truck across the inlet my brother-in-law would be sitting on the moose gut pile waiting for a Grizzly. The trip to the truck takes about 35 minutes one way. The rack would have to be hauled to the first  location where a friend with a larger plane offered to haul the rack. However, maybe the 701 could.......

You'll have to eat the moose on the spot?   The antlers will create too much drag ...-:)

I don't know what I envy the most, being/living in Alaska, your moose hunt or your plane. Good luck on your hunt & safe flying.
