Hey Mike, how are you? I'm new to the zenith aircraft and I'm looking at possibly purchasing a kit. I'd love to come by and take a look at your aircraft if your still building. I live in Oklahoma City, not too far from you. Hope all is well.
This is the MC-7 from Aircraft Spruce // I have tried several others including the Zenith factory cowl for the Lycoming and was not at all happy with any // The MC-7 does not require a prop extension but I will have to add a couple of blisters for the starter and alternator pulley. I am using the Skytec kit with the 60 amp alternator and integrated bracket. I like the fit of the MC-7 but it is tight on the right side air intake and I wish the openings were 3 inches toward the top. I might have to add a little scoop for proper airflow over cylinders 1&3 // I wish Zenith had a newer (cleaner and less dated) cowling as it would be well worth the money not to have to re-engineer all of this but I think they are trying to stay with lighter engines anyway. Any one out there with Lycoming experience / I would be happy to see your solutions and any advice as well.
