In Canada Diesel is $1.22 / litre. 100LL AVGAS is $1.80  I have the Rotax 912 80 hp in the Zodiac CH601HD and it purrs along at 15 / litres / hr. The Smart Car only gets good fuel mileage around town, take it out on the highway at 120 kph and its sucks back the fuel. That is really the point where most aircraft engines operate...95% of redline rpm.  A friends C180 Amphib burns 75 litre / hr...my CH750 with Rotax 912S is 18 - 20 litres/hr. I fly around 100 hrs / yr so fuel economy, reliablity and 2000 hr TBO are all reasons I chose the Rotax 912 engines.

Wow, at $5.90 p/gallon, you are paying more or less what we pay here in australia. I pay upto $1.60 per litre (1 gallon = 3.8 litres) for diesel for my car and truck. I petrol is about the same and dearer for premium. Starting to wish that I did the Smart Car diesel engine for my Zodiac. I think they make a redrive for it now.

Mark has the big old truck for pulling the trailer..."BUT" at $5.90 / gallon for regular gas in Canada the advantage goes to the MG. Its not a "girly car" if you look under the hood... you need to be part mechanic and carry your tools in the limited space of the MG just to keep one running ;>)  Its too late for me to feel the wind in my hair :>(

Now that's not quite the image that I had of mark. I would have expected to see him rock up in a GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado or maybe even an F750 but not an old girly MG. What's next for Mark T? Maybe he will pull out his CH Cri-Cri for a quick photo op. WHAT A man. Just kidding, I like mark and what he does for a living. You da man Mark.
