with the prospect of another fine day with light winds (according to the weather man) we (myself, gary in his trike, and richard kallahan in his s7) decided to hop over the mountains into the rangitata valley and pay a visit to the strip at mesopotamia station. on arrival at the station the owner turned up and invited us up to the homestead for a cuppa and chat, great back country hospitality. from mesopotamia we headed up and around mount harper to overfly lakes clearwater and camp. before turning north to lake heron strip where we landed and were joined by a cessna 180 who was in the area and heard the radio chatter it was good to catch up on the local back country strip conditions - more later.
