Hello Thomas. Thanks for sharing. Yes, I got lucky as this was only about 1.5hrs away and a free spinning RH model engine. I paid $400 for it. I, like you, will probably sit on it for some time before rebuilding it. I'd rather have the airframe completed and have a fresh rebuilt engine at that time. I may/may not even tear it down until later to protect all internals. Unless I bring it to a WW college and donut there. It's a fun adventure for sure. I am going with either 110Hp or 120HP option. How about you?

Just wanted to clarify on the two Corvairs- the man I bought my Corvairs from wouldn't sell just the one. He needed to get a bunch of cars off his property and sold them as a pair. Surely you can find the serial number and turn the crank before purchase!

Oh what excitement! This scene looks familiar. I had to buy two Corvairs in order to get the one that had the right serial number for airplane conversion. I was able to sell some trim and other misc. parts. I have my engine disassembled now for two years and have not started the rebuild due to finances. I have talked to my brother's neighbor in WI that has built two of these with great dependable performance (and these before the fifth bearing)! I've even recently discovered a guy in the next town has a Corvair engine he desires to build. Small world! Be sure to get William Wynn's videos and up-to-date handbook. My engine will be going into a CH750 STOL. Blessings!
