Rod that protrudes was for High speed adjustment of the carburator. Since the Holley carburator doesn't work...The rod is GONE !

Thanks guys for the comments.The instruments are standard size (3.25 inches and 2.5 inches).
The rod is not supposed to stay that way : it is supposed to be almost flush to the panel and there is a knob that goes at the end of it. Turning the knob adjusts the High speed needl valve fine adjustment on the carburator( mixture control ). It is not working as planned and will be replaced.

Awesome panel! What size are your instruments? They sure fit in your panel nicely! I'm trying to decide on the round gauges or the glass myself, but I'm afraid it comes down to cost for me. The price of used gauges sure seems to have dropped lately, making them even more attractive to me. Pointy things as Bob referred to can get ya, but shoulder harness's should stop that, I always wear'em!

Dash looks great...loose the rod, it looks dangerous in a hard landing or turbulence.
