Approaching Moawhitu airstrip on D'Urville Island.

Over the lake and touch down after the bend on the airstrip. Peaceful place, ducks and local birds and ch701.

Shafid,

You must really love exploring these airstrips, while enjoying the beautiful landscapes of your country.

I'd love to come and visit sometime and explore with you. Right now I'm exploring the east end of Long Island, NY and having a terrific time. Have 26 hours on her now.

Thanks Brian. Your aircraft looks very nice and nearly finished from what I can see in your picture.

New Zealand is full of country airstrips, left behind from the old days of deer hunting and sea food ferrying. This airstrip was used to fly the fresh crayfish (lobsters) to the main market. I think most of the aircrafts flying in and out were cessna 180 or similar.
