STOL CH 750 on a frozen lake (Canada)

Nice plane, good work.
( for the warm weather flyers)
At the fly-in two lakes away, by using an ice auger, they had an accurate thickness of 12-14". The ice was clear and you could see the superficial cracks actually extend down to the water level. You could drive a loaded truck across the lake.
This ice was clear but on an overcast day the surface can be a flat, featureless white i.e.. depth perception can be difficult. Pressure ridges can also add some anxiety, if not seen early.
This was a perfect day.
What a beautiful piece of work. The color scheme blends so well the frozen ice drift patterns. So rugged and yet so sleek.Almost like static flying on cloud drifts of ice.Hopefully those cracks don't mean anything.
Wow! great photo, a 1000 words. Seams like you would need a radio frequency there to give ice depth like a weather frequency for an airport. Also are frozen lakes ever too clean and smooth to see well, like a calm lake to a sea pilot?

re: handling
with no / little tire grip, I just kept it straight and let it run out. There were no pressure ridges to worry about and no wind both of which made control easier, as well.
The cool calm air provided a dense ground effect cushion that I could settle through --- and look smooth. Cww
BEAUTIFUL 750!!!! The graphics are a perfect fit.
I bet you have fun with the run up on ice!
Cool! Well, actually cold. Really cold, but really cool!
I always wondered how is to land on frozen runway, lake ?
Great picture. Now we know what Goose looks like if he doesn't migrate South for the winter.
