Finally got around to finishing the windshield install. The dash cover is from the Zen upholstery kit. Painted black underneath to prevent any glare from the bare aluminum. The round flange is an outlet for a windshield defrost vent. One on each side. I had issues with the Zen screws, they kept stripping. I got some cheap, but tough, steel screws for the install. Now that the tubes are "tapped" I'll switch them out to stainless. Overall it was nerve racking, but looks great. I sure don't want to install another one though... :)

Looks great! Where did you get that black trim around the bottom of the windshield?
Hi Jack,
You bet. It's been parked outside now for about 3 weeks and we've had some serious rain storms in that time. The water beads up behind the top window trim so doesn't come in there. The window is sealed over the cabin tubes with two layers of 1/8" butyl tape. Once the window touched this stuff, it's all over and seals about as good as it gets. I left about 1.5" of window sticking out over the edge of the tubes as well under the wing. Worked great! Not a drop of water in the plane so far. I'm sure it seals out a lot of wind noise as well.
Mark
Mark,
Were you able to get a good seal between the top window and the wing?
That turned out really well Mark! Thanks for detailing the process on the homebuilt builder thread!
