This tray is 140mm wider than the center console, so this gives me a 70mm wide "conduit channel" on either side of the center console under the seat pan. This will keep my wire looms & brake lines away from the control cables and the torque tube - and will route that stuff under the main spar instead of having to go over it inside the cabin somewhere. Another option would be to use two smaller ones, one on either side. They could be mounted more outboard... still debating this with myself.

Geez, sorry Brian, I need to get more sleep, for some reason from a previous post I had thought you were building the 750 like I am, that's why I posted that. I don't even know if some of this would work for yours, but if any of this gives you any ideas, great. I see what you're saying about the heavy wire, that would have to be addressed. I could still do it in mine, but I would slip in in a sleeve for wear since I have fuel lines in there also. 

The aluminum lines are fuel lines running from the wing tanks to the selector. I think mine had other issues, I had to get around my gear, that's why I went under. Once I was around the gear, I dropped down and ran everything under to the firewall. the only thing that came back up in the tunnel were fuel lines for the selector, and brake line for the parking brake on the console. Also headset wires, and stuff on my stick.

Mine may be a completely different app, I don't know if any of it would work. After seeing your  belly pan, I was looking forward to you fabricating a cargo pod for the 750.

Also Walt - it looks like your rudder cables have a different routing than my 650... it looks like yours are running from the pedals to a narrower spread where they go through the spar... my 650, they run straight back thru a fairlead on either side of the lightening hole... Is yours a different model?

Thanks Walt - Very nice looking job. My "biggest" problem is that I need to also run a fat 4-gauge battery cable and another hefty battery cut-off solenoid wire from back to front. Clamping that stuff down around the cables, shackles, etc. would be a pain.  My hands are large (and fat-fingered.)  Even though there might be enough room for all of the wires I need inside the center console - it's a pain working in there and I just don't want to run high-amp wires anywhere near the stick and cables. (Of course, all of my console rivets are already done too :>O)  

I may reconsider this anyway - your work looks really nice.  I'd bet capping the stiffener channel would strengthen it as well.

What is that aluminum tube in there?

Hi Brian, 

Looks like you've done some pretty nice sheet metal work on your belly tray. If you start thinking about putting everything in the channel on the underside, I attached a picture of how all of your lines may fit. I have all of my lines, wires, etc underneath in the channel which will be enclosed.

I know you mentioned you did not want to place them in your tunnel/console, but they ail actually fit in there quite nicely. I did not want any lines running on the interior to the front, so I ran them in the channel and torque tube area. The other picture shows my  small console and the absence of lines to the panel.

Just in case you were wondering if they would fit.
