Bending 701 landing gear using hydraulic press.

Thanks for the info.
The tonnage rating is probably around 40 to 60. I'm not quite sure. It is a twin piston press and handled the bends very easily. The gauge is non-functional so I wasn't sure how much pressure was being generated. I made the lower die about 13 inches between the rollers and made sure I had about 5.5" of travel available to the bottom.
What is the tonnage rating on your press? What is the distance center-to-center on the lower die?
Ten degrees extra for springback seemed to work out just right. For the edges I used a carbide tipped roundover bit on my router and made very small ajustments with each pass. Then I polished with emery cloth. It turned out nice.
How much do you have to over bend to account for springback ?
Very cool. What method did you use to router the edge?
