My dad and I spent Father's Day 2010 on this cross country first to KUIN (Quincy, IL) for a pancake breakfast then to KTIP (Rantoul, IL) to see the Chanute Air Museum.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanute_Air_Force_Base will tell you more. My dad did some of his aircraft electrical training here in the 60's.

I enjoy every flight I get with my dad. We were earthbound for Father's Day this year but we're trying to squeeze in a short hop over to Galveston, TX before we drag the camper to Oshkosh. On the Gulf Coast the weather is always a wild card.
Glad to hear that y'all had an adventure... still gonna miss Oshkosh?
