This is Brian Parsons CH701 powered by the UL Power 260iS engine. This engine is rated at 107 hp, features a full FADEC multiport fuel injected engine, with a 1500 hr TBO. This is the first UL Power engine I have personally seen & touched. It looks like a very robust crank case, premium quality machined cylinders & heads. A very high tech looking engine. The engine requires installation of dual batteries. The panel features a 8" Dynon Skyview. Brian has been building his CH701 for 3 yrs, lives in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. This CH701 has a 2,200 km flight home from Can-Zac in Kitchener, Ontario in its near future.

Ken

The generator charges both batteries, but the are electrically seperate from each other. Dual ignition requires dual batteries. But... I think Brian Parsons could best answer any questions, as its his engine.  I only notice interesting things under construction in the Can-Zac hangar and take pictures for others who may be considering this engine. Everyone on this site should know I am a BIG Rotax 912 engine fan. Builders considering this engine should be aware the total installed cost (ready to fly in your aircraft) will be higher than Rotax 912S with a proven 2000 hr TBO. :>)

Actually, I don't believe the UL engines require dual batteries. They do need power to run, but they already have redundant power supply through battery + generator.
