Hello Bob.  Garmin's G3X system has a choice of 3 displays.  A smaller display that comes in a vertical orientation or a horizontal orientation.  Third choice I chose the 10" larger display that is only horizontal.  I bought the engine analyzer monitor and all that informatuin takes up space.  After you become familiar with the layout, then you know where to look.  Ill let you know if that theory works.  I'm 71 years old and require eye correction to actually read numbers and words.    I like the older analog displays.  

This panel is small and I worried 7 months before building it.  I cut out the Zenith panel and overlaid it with  .090 aluminum.  Used paper cutouts to plan the physical layout.

I added a real Altimeter and airspeed display as a backup in the event the displays fails.  

The throttle quadrant is from AircraftSpruce company.   It serves its purpose and works very well.  I am pleased with the outcome and that's my opinionated defense.

Thanks. I was looking at EFIS numbers instead of numbers for standalone displays. That's probably how I got confused. I may have also inadvertently copied the "O" in the original post instead of "0", and that affected my search results. Still can't find anything on a 640 though, so I'm guessing this is just a component number of a G3X system???

Anyway, what really interests me is the display size. I have the same panel real estate and was looking at a 10" Dynon, but was concerned that having everything on one screen might make for difficult reading for my aging eyes. Do you have any issues seeing all the small stuff on the screen? I'd love to have a second display, but that isn't going to happen on a stock 750 STOL panel, especially considering that I'll have two radios and a comm panel. I could use the larger Cruzer panel of course, but I'd hate to infringe on the great visibility the STOL offers.

On a different note, what kind of throttle quadrant is that, and why did you decide to use it instead of a 'typical' throttle/mixture control?

Thd Garmin Display Unit (GDU) 640 is the model number for the large main display.  The GTN Is the navigator, GTR is the radio etc.  

No CNC or vendor fabrication.  The main panel is .090 inch aluminum hand cut.  The left and right side are sub-panels that are removable for access.

What exactly is a GDU64O? Garmin is not my forte. I assume it's the EFIS you're referring to.
