Prelim W&B confirmed that with my 250 lb, a 200 lb passenger, I was at or behind the rear CG limit at zero fuel in my Zodiac CH 650B. To reset the W&B for larger adults, I did a second prelim W&B with the Viking 110 engine 1.50"farther forward. This produced a safe and much better CG position.
Spacing at the firewall or a new mount is complicated due to the angled firewall. Jan at Viking suggested welded 4130 steel spacers at the engine side of the mount because these mount points are vertical. The spacers were beveled and clamped with a 3/8" bolt for TIG welding. The result looks great and the longer 3/8"aircraft bolt keeps everything strong. Thanks Jan!
