Notice the visible slplit at the edge of the "L" bracket - doesn'ty look all that bad until you take out the pads and look at the damage. I didn't think it was all that bad and decided to fly with the pads for thirteen hours.

What is going on at the chip at the bend of the gear? Looks like stress from a hard landing but I don't understand the chip. Is the gear coated or painted? Also, trying to understand the next photo of the pads. Did the pad split into what looks like four seperate chunks? I am not that far in my build so I don't have any experience with that construction yet. Looks like something to keep an eye on durring pre-flight. Good luck.
