Sorry, should have said, inside fuselage over knees fuel tank... Not leading edge tanks which is much safer...

You mentionned leading edge fuel tanks safety concern. I totally agree. My father died in a Jodel which burst into flames following a crash. A fuel tank in close proximity to a battery, live wires above your knees is not a good idea. I am thinking of retrofiting my 601 HD to have leadind edge tanks before I ever fly in it.
I am surprised this this is not more of a concern in the zenair comunity.
On the other hand, i would love ti find an explosion proof fuel cell that could be used inside the fuselage. Could be an acceptable compromise.
