Hi Normand:  The steel bungee looks like a big improvement.  Hope it works well for you.  I have scrapped the nose gear entirely on my 750 and this after spending about 1000$ on strength mods and adding a shock/brace and more. The bungee always looked inadequate to me.

My engine is a Honda D 16 with turbo which is much heavier than a Rotax but still within the envelope. Almost. I may need a bag of spuds in the tail.. After reading about nose gear failures even in a cross wind I finally drank the cool aid. The Honda is dyno'd for 220 horses at 6,000 for TO. Had it built at a hot rod shop and they do know their stuff. It wont break or fail.

I am designing a swiveling, trailing link nose gear with 4" more lift to improve prop clearance for back country and mountain landings and this should improve angle of attack for TO. Not that this should be an issue.

What I really want to ask about is the split rim issues and tube failures you experienced. I too have Matco splits, 6" size.  If Zenith had any sales ability they would have let me know about wheel size options and I was too dumb to ask.  I would have chosen 8" solids.  I use Air Trac 8.00 x 6" tires but went with tubes to keep the tires on the rim with lower air pressure for bush landings.  Now I'm wondering if I can ever do anything right the first time.  I will glue the rubber to the rims if need be. What are your thoughts?

Thanks    Brian

Hi guys,

Its weight is 2 pounds 10 onces, the cord bungee weighs in at 4 onces... The machine work is very good and it looks very professional. I'll have to wait to install it until some much better weather.
