Close up of the inside axle stub mounted, with ski in place and ski bolt installed. This stub axle supports the aircraft weight load on skis, contact is between the 4130 1/2" steel axle and this 1 1/4" 4130 steel stub axle. The aluminum gear leg does not support the aircraft weight
