I like it - and the header tanks too!

It's made from .025" 6061, and it only weighs a few pounds. It does flex in the middle when loaded, but will easily hold a larger suitcase without issue. I will also add a racing window net to the front to act as a safety barrier.
I hadn't really considered making it removable, I can't think of anything I would put back there that won't fit with the shelf in place and it isn't in the way of any maintenance.
And how much does it weigh? The tubes appear to be simple protection for the fuel lines, but they seem larger than they'd need to be for that.
What are the large vertical tubes on the left and right that are secured by Adel clamps - header tanks?
Shelf looks sturdy! What thickness aluminum?
Looks good! Have you thought about making it removeable (maybe with nutplates) ?
