Looking fast and cool. Cost of a Cessna cowl flap $1000... for Zenith owners... a days labour. Hope this helps.

Once your airframe construction is complete your more or less on your own for "instructions". I spent a summer figuring the oil temps / cooler setup out on my Rotax 912. Its good to have an aircraft engine with dealer support to help work through these issues. Take your (and mine) grief and multiply by a factor of 10 and that is the trouble experienced (in most cases) by builders installing automotive engines and redrives.

Thanks for posting these pics Bob.....I went ahead and stuck in a fast an easy fixed cowl flap. If my engine runs too cool in the winter, I will do something different....maybe just tape over part of the cooler. As of now, i am happy with the Jabiru....could not say that a month ago.
