All titanium welded almost like the print.vary light.
Who and/or how did you make the nosegear strut? Is it a smooth piece of Titanium tube with the various cross pieces drilled and bolted thru? Or is there any welding?
Is the nose fork T as well?
The turbine 701 is nice but these are going to be UL power. We are doing a dyno evaluation on the UL engines next month. These two 701’s have a lot of cool things we did not put on the turbine 701. We hope to take the pair to Oshkosh in 2014. We can’t go next year due to prior commitments.
That IS cool! Can't wait to see what else you do to these aircraft.
Titanium is as light as aluminum but stronger than steel in most cases. The strut and nose gear and the firewall skin are titanium. The rest is aluminum. Saved a few pounds and spent a lot more on material. We like cool things.
What is the weight\strength difference over the factory design? Are all the components titanium, or just the firewall and the strut?
