Lovely setup and I'm considering doing something similar.
Did you use any bushing between the sections of tube - nylon or equivalent, or is there not enough movement to warrant this?

Hi Joseph,
I took your pictures and mod and did the same but in the picture I'm not showing the front part of the original tube (cut) that is still in the plane and I'm missing the 1.25 inch tube that goes over everything else I got pictured.
I had bought the 1.25 inch tube with .069 wall but it ended up being too thick and the 1.125 inch tube (original) wouldn't go thru it. So, I bought the 0.058 and 0.049 1.25 inch tube and I'll use the one that fits my original tube.
Thanks for the design and pictures. Only thing for me left to figure out is how to secure the elevator control to the floor so it won't move anymore. I already made 3 holes 3/16 holes in the bracket for the purpose of screwing it to something attached to the floor of the 701.
