I left the cowl unpainted during Phase I in case modifications were necessary for cooling, etc. Once Phase I was completed, we painted and striped the cowl. I applied 3M polyurethane tape to the extended cowl lip and nose gear leg for FOD protection.

Lovely paint job. It looks a great aeroplane.
Thanks, Bob! The color is a long story ... My son helped me a lot last summer to get the plane going, so I told him he could pick the color and he said "lime green." Was at a sign shop and saw a green sample called "Kawasaki Green" - apparently used to be their racing color. When looking up a paint code, found "Gecko Green" was almost identical and used on the 2012 Jeep and Dodge Challenger. It's a little different, but everyone seems to like it! Went back to the sign shop and had my "EXPERIMENTAL" placard made in the same green ... you don't have to use black! LOL!
Awesome job...big Artic Cat fan? ( LOL)
