Hi, that's a good tip by Kalib! It must be quite difficult to set the plates in place before installing the flaperons but afterwards its easy and straightforward.

The drawings describe the installation pretty well, take a look at page 7A2-2.

Sent you a couple of photos anyway,  hope it helps!

Hello Ari:

  Thank you so much for responding.  I have since spoken with Kalib, the factory tech rep., I do not see any instructions on installing the splice plates so I did not know how to position them or where to put the rivet holes.  So Kalib said for me to wait until the wings are finished to install the plates.  I have finished the flaperons and set them aside waiting to finish the wings and put them on.  But I am still not sure how the plates are to be installed so a picture would be helpfull.  I have looked through the blogs and don't see any pictures of them or methods to install them.  Would you please put pictures on the blog or send them to my e-mail at: scudrunner@msn.com.  Thanks, Dave

Dave, just let me know where to send a photo and I'll try to find one for you.

Greetings Ari;

    Would you be so kind as to post pictures of the splice plates installed, or send me to a picture of them installed?  thank you, Dave

During a stop in a nearby airfield I noticed that the joints between inner and outer flaperons are pretty loose. The flaperon hinges are already in the repair list but this was something else.  I found the riveting of the plates had become loose and it has to be replaced. Then I discovered a fractured rear splice plate.

Now, I'm gonna replace all the plates with new ones shown in the photo.
