Online Community of Zenith Builders and Flyers
Added a single cover plate that covers all 4 lighting switches, holes all have a key that matches the keyway on the toggles - so, very solid mount.

Hey - I've heard nothing but good things about Corvair engines! There are a large number flying.
There are Continental or Lycoming engines (can't remember which) that were manufactured under the Rolls Royce brand during the war. I was surprised when I saw the first one - which was on the front of a Kit-Fox.
The only thing wrong with a Corvair is that a lot of Corvair Car Club members are upset as they are loosing their engines to the flying community.
I like the looks of your panel, they way you have it laid out and of course, the wood touch!
Happy New Year and be sure to post pictures of the finished product.

Mack,
I guess I would consider my engine to be a "Rolls Royce" of a type - it began it's life as a 1968 Corvair 160 CID and I am using the Roy's Garage 5th bearing... so it began its life rolling, and will now sport a Roy's!!
I am very attracted to this engine because it is an affordable horizontally opposed 6-cylinder, air cooled, and will be running direct drive prop to a max of 3300 RPM. I wanted an engine that I could work on myself with complete confidence, with (relatively) less expensive and readily available parts, that has been proven in numerous Zenith installations. Mine has all brand-new parts, including the Ellison EFS3-A throttle body, new cylinders, new forged pistons, new camshaft, new crankshaft, new rods, new valves, new valve guides, new dual-ignition distributor, new oil pump, etc.
Since I am the one doing the engine, I will know where every single nut and bolt and wire is, that it was done right, and that if anything does wear out I will be able to fix it myself.
Happy New Year!
Brian,
You're bringing a touch of class to Zenith with the wood finished panel!
Now, do you have a Rolls Royce engine attached?
