Spent some time with a local fabrication guy today and came up with these brackets to attach the Datum 1200 front ski to the nose gear strut. This spring strut will eliminate the need for check cables and bungee on the front ski (and near the prop)

I would strongly advise a nose and tail safety cable, on mains and nose ski , it will ruin your day if they flip up or down .. I know BOB
Looks real nice. Well done.
You got it Loren...an extra fork and axle with spacers to build up a nose gear assembly with the original 6" wheel and tire and it's a 4 bolt job! I put a 40# sandbag on the horizontal stab and rest the aft fuselage on a padded bench then go to town on the nose gear.
What a great idea. Also looks like it will give more prop ground clearance and be easier to replace by just have two Nose Wheel assemblies; one with a ski attached and the other without?
