Trying make the connection between the UL fuel pump manifold and the gas colator. Since they are two different sizes I am at a lost as to how to make that connection without a lot of plumbing and fitting If anyone has a suggestion of information on how to to do this it would be greatly appreciated...

I went out to the machine shop and since the weather is ban enough I can't do much else I plan to machine a male an6 fitting  out of mild steel and possible weld to the manifold. I think that should work. I wish they would come up with some other set-up for the connection to the fuel pump manifold. It seem strange that the manifold supplies is 1/2 inch and the fuel lines are all 3/8th or an6 size. Everything else works just fine but this is a real problem. None of us like thing that take time as this should have been addressed by Zenith before they send out the fire wall forward kits for the ul power plansts.

I used the firewall kit as supplied by Zenith. The issue with the fuel line is not the result of using their kit. I purchased a fuel line set from aircraft specialties. A little pricey but very high quality and I will never have replace the lines. The placement of the fuel coalator was not their decision. The glitch comes from UL dual fuel pump manifold. as its a 1/2 inch and an-6 fittings are all 3/8th. I think I have a solution I plan to machine an an-6 fitting to weld onto the manifold so that I can make that connection from the fuel pump manifold to the coalator. So far that has been the hardest part of the fuel line installation except trying to get them through the center console and to the Andair fuel selector a very tight fit.  When done though I will have a sold fuel system, not having to worry about replacing rubber lines and or the lines degrading with time. Past experience taught me the hard way the there are no short cuts to a solid fuel system (don't leave anything to chance). If I can be of anymore help let me know.

I just ordered my CH750SD and talking to UL about installing their new 520iST engine - who did your FWF?  Any further glitches that I should be aware of?

I see your point. At first glance the manifold looked like it was threaded. I enlarged the picture and saw the barbed end and I'm with you there is not enough there to thread. Would it be possible to make a new manifold out of threaded brass?

Thanks I was thing of threading the manifold so that I could use an AN6 adaptor not sure if there is enough metal there to do that, I wish they would have thought this out a little better when creating the forward engine kit.
Again thanks for the input...

Van,

I'm seeing 2 elbows with pipe thread fittings on one end and whatever hose fitting you choose( barbed, AN...) on the other end and hose between...
