This is a factory tank. Not mine.

Ah, that makes more sense now. Thanks for the heads up! Your tanks looks great, btw.

Time, I got all the parts from Wag-Aero already. Thanks for the tip on the fuel tank neck...haven't welded them up yet, but all the fittings are trimmed and the holes are drilled. The 21.5-degree angle follows the wing skin profile more closely, I assume? I was wondering about that when test-fitting them. It seems if you just drop the neck in and weld it, the angle of the cap is not quite tangent to the wing line.

Shop at WagAero for fuel system parts. The part numbers in the plans match what is in their catalog.  The fuel caps are the Piper vented caps and not the fuel tanks parts for home builders caps.   Set the fuel tank neck at a 21.5 degree angle so you can use a Cessna fuel cap if you have venting issues.

Woohoo! My first fuel tank formed! Ribs were easy enough, though I had to put very small, slight crimps in them...they had just a little curve to them. But the welder should be able to seal it up with no trouble. Used a 20mm-wide, long strip of .025 as a test piece. Bent it up one angle at a time, checking it against the rib after each bend, taking detailed measurements. Also left the 5mm lip long and the top bend long so I could trim to fit, just to be sure. The skin turned out perfectly on the first try! the test strip was perfect for making any adjustments. And, best part was that my skin was only 2.5mm off the OAL list in the plans.
