After losing a door in-flight Angus Watt designed a very light, simple and effective door lock. A 1" wide web strapping (you can trim what you need off a spare ratchet strap). You sew a a piece of three sided (sticky backed) velcro to tape to the strap. Use a solder iron to melt 3 A4 rivet holes in the strap after mounted under the latch plate. Then use the velcro sticky back to attach to the door latch. Simple & effective. Rescue peronel have no problem breaking door glass to unlatch (unlock) door if needed.

I may use a velcro strap similar to this riveted to the front door frame and velcroed to the steel tube cabin frame to stop the bowing in the door above 95 mph.

Bill

The "previous" picture to this one is larger. I'm sorry but for some reason my camera shot it in this size.

Hi Bob,

Looks like a simple fix, but I cannot enlarge the image.  Can you post a larger pix?

Thanks in advance,

Bill
