I have long legs and the left fork of the "Y" was hitting my right knee, preventing full left deflection. This works much better for me.

Has anyone else cut off the "ears"?   Any regrets?  The y stick seems like a good idea and all but is it really that necessary?   My "keep it simple stupid tendency" is questioning this.  I have a Tosten grip in another airplane.  Super simple and comfortable  great design.  No desire to go with dual sticks.  Just askin'.
