I've hung the fuselage from ropes so that I can turn it various ways to ease painting.

That Corvair is not intended for inverted flight ;-)

A word of caution.."If dropped you have made beer cans !" I remember a paint shop stand for rotating wings failed in the middle of the night..one CH750 wing destroyed beyond repair.
