Your work looks nice. I posted the same subject a few months ago. I was also advised about the fire issue.

I was sent a picture of a setup that was made of a fire blanket material that you can buy at aircraft spruce. I still

havent decided what I will install. How about a fire blanket sheild on the engine side with a slot in it? and keep your  jeep boots.

This looks very clean and tidy, however this will give you no protection from a fire.  If you have a fire you will have a cabin full of black toxic smoke and an access point for fire to come raging into the passenger compartment within seconds.  This topic has been discussed many times in the past with a lot of people using these boots.  Each time the builders opt for a more fire resistant method.  I have seen people use a welding glove with the rod coming out of one of the fingers.  Looked cool and did what welding gloves are made for, stopping the burning and protect the welder from flames and sparks.  I think that if you look this info up on the Zenith site you will find tons of info on this very same thing.  Keep building and fly safe!
