Might be worth also checking out Levil. They make a GPS/ads-b/ahrs for linking to ipad, and I think has input for Grand Rapids ems as well. This could generate pitot/static instrument data and ems data for ipad display. Not sure how well it sets up in practice. Anyone with hands on please chime in.....

Dr. Olds:  Aircraft Spruce and Specialty has an inexpensive one from Winter.  Wicks also has some, but about twice the bucks.  I'm sure you've checked them out.  I have tried to find one like in the photo with no luck.

Thanks for imformation Guys, will check out the websites, have not finished plane, but still looking for ways to save money. The ipad would be cheaper than a skyview, but will it be as good.

Thanks for the info Daniel.  I checked out Foreflight's website.  Pretty interesting system.  And CHEAP.  Definitely cheaper than a bag of charts and plates.

Christopher, if in fact it is Foreflight, it is $79 a year for basic 1 pilot and $149 a year for Pro version.  They have a pretty interesting website at www.foreflight.com.  I checked it out and am considering it.  Oh, wait, I've got to build a plane first!

looks good how much for the app down load?

Looks like foreflight, which does not have those capabilities.

Does the App have capability of incorporating engine instruments, alt, AS, radio, etc?
