I wanted a simple panel, but wanted to take advantage of digital technology at a reasonable cost. MGL Avionics was my solution. I also wanted a redundant panel and the ability to fly from either seat.

Left to right: MGL Flight-2, primary flight display. Xcom radio with intercom. Fuel gauges, Flap indicator, Airspeed and MGL ALT-4 Encoding Altimeter with VSI, Grand Rapids EIS and Narco Transponder. The Flight-2 includes Altimeter, Airspeed, RPM, VSI, Volts, TAS, Density Altimeter, fuel flow and more.

I will be adding a Falcon Electric Attitude under the Airspeed. This will be for safety, just in case I get into low visibility. This will be a day/night VFR airplane. Navigation will be with Garmin 60CSX and Sectionals. For a Moving Map display, I will look outside, this will also help to avoid obstacles and terrain.

Total cost of the panel, radio, switches, etc. is $5,000. Add another $1,300 for the Falcon Attitude.

Wish I'de gone for the EIS option instead of analog gauges.
