July 2022. New paint job on cowling for better visibility. Added vinyl leading edge strips to prevent etching and pitting caused by bugs and fine sand/gravel. Vinyl strips cost ~$100. Added new full length nose gear strut fairing. Should add 1 to 2 knots if performs as on previous CH801. Total cost of fairing materials: $1.98 plus tax.

It is available in clear as well. You can also buy clear leading edge tape. 6" wide by 100 feet is $36 per 100' roll. And you can get 20 mill 4" black by 100' for $169. Material quality drives price. You can also buy it for automotive use even cheaper.
Thanks. I just want to get a clear film put on my leading edges to protect the paint against nicks and stuff.
I just went to a local vinyl graphics store and had them cut the standard 48" wide material into 6-3/4" wide strips 44 inches long. You get enough to do both wings. Cost is $6 per square foot, so the entire set was ~$100.
Since I had not done vinyl application before, I paid a guy to come over and show me how, If you know the tricks it is simple. Total time to install and trim was under an hour.
Where did you get the vinyl strips?
