September 10, 2017 - Chris Heintz was the recipient of the Aeronautical Medal of France.
The prestigious Médaille de l'Aéronautique was presented by French minister Ségolène Royal to Chris for his lifelong contributions aviation around the world.

And congratulation on your recognition. You are at least as deserving of your reward as that Lindbergh fellow was.
I met you at Sun-N-Fun the year you built the first 701 there... c1988??? It was fascinating to watch.

Dear Chris,
I am really impressed with your contribution to aviation all those years, from the stress analysis on the Concorde, to work at Robin as well as to the Zenith series of aircraft. It is your contribution to the light aircraft that we especially remember!
Your design contribution has had a flow on effect as well. Your light-and-strong design with a decided focus on function-over-form has, in turn, inspired others in the aviation to community to design aircraft with your principles clearly in mind.
