Last winter was great for ski flying. There are a number of state owned log cabins in Northern Finland free for all to visit and stay overnight. No electricity or running water but a stove and firewood available :) Welcome to Finland!

Winter flying is great fun! The number of public cabins is unfortunately decreasing due to lack of resources to maintain them... $.. But we can still enjoy these, especially in the winter with the landscape turning into a large airfield

This sounds similar to the Alaska public cabins..... very low cost, and just a roof over your head. What a great destination!
