When I built my 650B wings, I didn't plan on pre-installing the aileron cables or a rope before the top skin was riveted. Now that the plane is assembled and painted, I need to pull the aileron control cable between the fuselage fair leads to the bell crank in the wing. This is not an easy job. I did not see any warning in the wing builders manual or drawings to pre-install the cables.

After four failed MacGuiver attempts, the fifth one worked. A 6.5 ft. fishing rod is used to mount a web cam and LED light close to the tip. An amplified USB cable is hooked to a laptop to view where the rod end is going. The rod tip has a nylon string taped to it. The web cam helps guide the rod tip with string through the 1/2" fairlead hole at the fuselage.

This placed the four strings that will be used to pull the cables through the wing and allow connection of the ailerons to the stick. Problem solved. I did not want to remove the wings to fix this!
