thanks for the updates,i will look into that instrument cover and edging, sure helps when someones done it first and looks good. i went to my towns airport today agua dulce, ca and hooked up with a lot of old friends and got to see some nice restorations in progress. they were giving rides for $40-60 donations in helicopters, biplanes c206 c182, gave my last minute eurocopter ride to an 8 year old and hopes it lites his fire for aviation.  the smile on his face was fantastic

Thanks, Chris! As a matter of fact, I just came back from a test flight after attaching a stainless exhaust extension. The original pipe just barely clears the fuselage and leaves a lot of exhaust stain on the belly, so I added a turn-down extension and pointed the opening away from the belly. It's just a bit quieter and hopefully will diffuse the exhaust and keep the belly cleaner. I live in the beautiful Sequatchie Valley with lots of grass fields (cattle country) and several airstrips, so a good place to be! I originally made a cover of faux suede that was foam backed. The suede was a dirt magnet, so I glued it to the back of a piece of marine grade/UV resistant black vinyl. You can get the same rubber edging as they use to clamp it to the instrument panel cover from McMaster-Carr.

looks terrific,anymore tweaks in the pipeline? are there lots of place where you live to try out the stol capabilities?

and what did you use for the dash cover?
